BY YOUTH, FOR YOUTH

Welcome to Naarm Law Students

Naarm Law Students is a not-for-profit organisation specialising in legal education. We are run by a team of young lawyers and law students who are eager to educate the next generation about their rights. We offer free sessions for schools, community centres, and any other groups of young people.

Our Mission

By Youth, for Youth

Naarm Law Students (NLS) is a community legal education project that focuses on young people and their rights under the settler colonial legal system.

What we do

Our sessions generally run for about 30 minutes with time for questions. They are designed to be short and engaging to ensure young people get the most out of them. We are also very happy to run multiple sessions together.
We believe in the power of peer education to train youth in legal literacy. We hope to enable young people to empower themselves and their peers.

Who we work with

We engage with a wide range of partners such as schools, local councils, NGOs and youth centres. We are located in Melbourne/Naarm and conduct both in-person and online sessions.
NLS is committed to equipping young people with a comprehensive legal and human rights-based toolkit to navigate and challenge systemic barriers effectively - Maggie (NLS Co-founder)
Naarm Law Students conducts its work on the lands of the Wurundjeri Peoples of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded and pay our respects to elders, past and present. Naarm always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
